Prima peaches & Christmas cards

Here are last of my projects with the Prima peaches line (from my Scrap Attack Scrapbooking designer supplies), it worked out perfect for the picture I had of Lulu in here panda costume!

And here is a mini advent calendar I made using two boxes of Orbitz whitening gum (24 pieces):

Christmas cards

I busted out a bunch of Christmas cards with the Christmas line from MME and also finished all of the old Christmas card challenges at SAS and earned myself a new charm!

tim holtz inspired tags

I just loved following the 12 tags of Christmas that was on the Tim Holtz blog. At first I was just content with watching but then I wanted to try something out for myself. I went and bought a few things but I really had to improvise with the rest. Here are a few a made:

1. This tag is inspired by tag #1, I used a leaf mask on my tag and a script stamp. I found some cheap snowflakes at michaels and covered them with gold stickles, then used various letter stickers that I had to make a title, and stapled on some gold ball ribbon. I made eight of these to place on plates of cookies that I made for holiday gifts.

2. This was inspired by tag #2, using alcohol inks and metallic mixative. I didn't really like this one too much but it turned out okay. I only made one of these.

3. This was my favorite but very time consuming, it was inspired by tag #5. Can you believe the first step is painting the whole tag black? I also used grungeboard for this tag, which was also a lot of fun to work with. I made 2 of these since each tag took about an hour.

Mini crop at Scrap Attack

There's a great mini-crop going on now at SAS! One challenge is posted each day (started Monday, ends next Friday). Some challenges are for layouts, some are for cards, and some are for either one. All challenges are due by the end of the crop so work at your leisure, and of course there will be prizes too!

Here are a few challenges I've completed so far:

This is my challenge to create a page or 2 cards that are non-standard sizes, I created 2 8x8 pages for my mom's mini-album:

This challenge was to create 4 cards, 2 christmas, 2 non-christmas, all with approximately the same design, I chose to make gift tag cards:

and the second challenge is to create a set of cards with your favorite color combo and since I love yellow & blue, why not use these same papers!

two blogging awards

I received two awards from my blogger friend Lynette at A work in progress blog.

Here are the rules:
1. The winner may put the logo on their blog.

2. Put a link to the person who sent you the award.

3. Nominate 5 blogs.

4. Provide links to their blogs.

5. Leave a message for your nominees.

1. Pick 5 bloggers that you consider as your best blogging buddies and deserves this award for their contribution towards the blogging community, no matter what language.

2. State the name of the author of each blog as well as a link to each one's blogs.

3. Each blogger (upon acceptance) of this award should do a post and show the award on their blog and put the name and link to the blog that has given her/him the award.

4. Link to DOING LIFE's blog, so everyone will know the origin of this award.

5. Show these rules.

Okay, I'm not sure if I was supposed to pick seperate people for each award, but I don't think it matters, so here are my nominees for BOTH awards.

1. Carrie at Carrie's Scrap Corner, not only because she is my sister, but because quite frankly she is the best scrapper I know.

2. Jenn at Eve's Mama's Ramblings for her excellent embroidery and sewing creations, and her honesty and openness in her blogging.

3. Bridget at the hansen family blog, for her consistent blogging and her desire to become a scrapper!

4. Wendi at Scrappy Day in Paradise, whose style of scrapbooking I admire and strive for!

5. Dria at PhotoFinnatic for her gorgeous photography and scrapbooking.

Thank you again to Lynette for nominating me, and thank you to the above ladies for all your inspiration!
